Water Sport Short

What would you say if I told you that you could have fun with water with more than just water guns or swimming? You would probably say, “yeah right”. Well, there are plenty of ways that you can enjoy some fun with water. Let me tell you about some water sports that will allow you to have some aquatic fun.

Scuba Diving

Scuba diving is a water sport that allows a person to breathe underwater with a self-acclaimed breathing apparatus. This sport is one of the safest. The mortality rate of scuba diving is one death for every 212,000 dives. The only common injury that you may encounter is a broken toe. You can thank the slippery environment and your bare feet for that. If you fear that a shark attack may occur, don’t worry because you have a better chance of being hit by a falling coconut.

White Water Rafting

White water rafting is a recreational sport that uses an inflatable raft to navigate a body of water. It is one of the most exciting, sought after water sports out there. It is not for the faint-hearted because it involves racing headlong into rapids and walls of water. If you are looking to take your first rafting trip, give either the Green, Nenana, or Salmon rivers a try.

Jet Skiing

One of my personal favorites is jet skiing. This sport allows you to navigate through rivers, lakes, and oceans. You are able to take a leisure ride with your family of up to for or ride individually and race your best friend. Whichever way you choose to enjoy it, jet skiing is not an activity that you would want to pass up this summer.

Kayaking

Whether you are a first-time paddler or a pro, you will find some enjoyment in kayaking. It involves using a double-bladed oar to navigate a kayak. The small boat usually accommodates only one person but there are some that can seat up to three. You can use this watersport to enjoy a fishing or camping trip.

Surfing

Surfing is probably one of the most popular of all watersports. If you feel like you’re having a bad day because you had to meet with your boss, you can grab a surfboard and face a bigger challenge. Unlike scuba diving, marine life possesses a higher threat. Keep those seals, stingrays, jellyfish, and shark when you go to ride the waves.

No matter what sport you choose to enjoy, make sure to stop by the surfshop to fulfill your needs.
